Letting Kids Be Kids

JCC Day Camp

For 93 Years

Where everyone is welcome.

Children must be 5 years of age and have completed Kindergarten to attend camp.

About Our Camp

For the past 93 summers, generations of families have enjoyed the Wyoming Valley JCC Camp.

Located in a gated, 40-acre jewel overlooking scenic Harveys Lake, our camp abounds with sports fields, three swimming pools, an indoor gym (available for year-round use,) a performing arts theatre in the round, tennis courts, outdoor and indoor basketball courts, cafeteria, gaga court, archery, biking and nature trails, and so much more! Transportation to and from the camp, lunch and before / after care are available for an additional fee.

Best Supervision in the Region.

Your child enjoys the highest staff-to-camper ratio regionally.

Our diverse and qualified staff – teachers, coaches, student athletes, artists, musicians, dancers, and even former campers – are from across the U.S. and Israel. They care for and about your child. Staff participates in an intensive orientation program prior to the start of the season. Campers love our staff!

Our camp nurse is on-site during camp hours to handle any medical issues and for consultation. All programs include transportation to and from the camp. Before and after care is available to all families at the campsite and at the JCC.

Camp K’Ton Ton

Literally translated in Hebrew as “Very little,” Camp K’Ton Ton is our program for our youngest campers: Kindergarten to first grade. K’Ton Ton is your child’s opportunity to grow and delight each day in ways they would not experience from the average daycare. Your child will build confidence, creativity, and life skills. Learn to swim! Ride a bike! Make special friendships. K’Ton Ton groups are categorized by age/grade, in co-ed groups.

Camp Nagila

Camp Nagila is our program for second through fourth graders. In Nagila, children are grouped by grade in school for that upcoming year, allowing them to be with children their own age, gender, and maturity, so they can grow together. Nagila campers still have a structured daily schedule — and they choose their own activities chosen based on their interests! Your child also enjoys new experiences!

Camp Mitzvah

Translated from Hebrew as “good deed,” the fifth through seventh graders have a great deal of autonomy. This program allows your children to choose their activities every day, mix and mingle with campers throughout the program, and experience amazing special activities. Campers also have the opportunity to participate in community service, by venturing to nursing homes and food pantries, giving them the opportunity to not only gain community service hours for school requirements, but also to see life through a different lens and truly make an impact of the lives of others.

Counselors in Training (CIT)

Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program provides teenagers (entering 8th-9th grade) with exciting opportunities to build character and self-esteem. Participants develop communication and leadership skills through team-building exercises and hands-on training with staff members in our day camp program. Successful completion of the JCC Day CIT program is an outstanding accomplishment for teenagers to on job and college applications and is a wonderful first step in seeking employment as a counselor at our camp in future summers.
