The Jewish Community Alliance of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s Annual Campaign is an incredibly responsive grassroots effort dedicated to strengthening and supporting our Jewish community from the ground up.

Welcome to our community, where the values of compassion, charity, generosity, and responsibility inspire us to improve the quality of life for people in our community every day.

Become an annual supporter of our many wonderful programs serving children, families and seniors throughout our community by participating in our Annual Campaign.

Sending a tribute card is an excellent way to honor a memory or an accomplishment while simultaneously supporting the Friedman JCC. These cards can be sent for any reason including birthdays, B’nai mitzvahs, graduations, and more!

For an $5 minimum donation, you may send a tribute card to honor someone’s special occasion that supports a variety of JCC program areas. You may also request a packet of 5 blank tribute cards for a donation of $25.

We greatly appreciate your support in helping the JCC grow stronger as a thriving community center. Todah Rabah (Thank You) for allowing us to continue to provide a welcoming home that enriches the lives of people in our community.

Here are the following card options:

  1. Friedman JCC Scholarship Fund for JCC Camp Scholarship – Help needy and deserving youth attend the Friedman JCC camp.
  2. Sara’s Table at the Kraus-Chaiken Food Pantry – Provides food for needy families in the community.
  3. Howard and Carol Schneider Lidz Endowment in memory of Morris and Doris Lidz – Educational experience in Israel for Teens.

Transforming Lives

Your company can transform the lives of our young children through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. By making a contribution to the JCC scholarship fund through EITC, your company can receive Pa. State tax credit equal to 75 percent of your contribution. If your company commits to the program for two consecutive years, the credit will be 90 percent of your contribution.

How It Works

  • More than $75 million is available on a first-comefirst-served basis for contributions to scholarship organizations like the JCC.
  • Companies in Pennsylvania that pay any of the following taxes qualify to participate:
    – Corporate Net Income Tax
    – Capital Stock Franchises Tax
    – Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax
    – Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax
    – Insurance Premiums Tax
    – Mutual Thrift Insurance Premium Tax
  • Information regarding application deadlines can be found here.*

FAQs

What is the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program?

The EITC Program enables companies to support nonprofit schools at minimal cost. Instead of sending tax dollars to Harrisburg, companies can reallocate them to support the JCC.

Who may make EITC gifts?

You might be surprised. Businesses ranging from neighborhood pharmacies, to mid-sized companies, to large corporations all are eligible. This includes the following type of businesses:

  • C-Corporations (taxed at the corporate level)
  • S-Corporations
  • Partnerships
  • Sole Proprietors
  • Limited Liability Companies (LLC’s)
  • Subchapter S corporations and other businesses that pay their State business taxes under the personal income tax on PA business income

How much of a business’ tax liability can be donated to Friedman JCC through EITC

Businesses can receive a tax credit equal to 75% of a contribution up to $750,000 per year. The credit increases to 90% if the business agrees to provide the same amount for two years.

Can the JCC help me apply?

Yes. We will work with you. We want to make the process as simple as possible. Contact Gary Bernstein at 570-824-4646 or gary.bernstein@nepajca.org
