December 21, 2025
Come celebrate the Festival of Lights with our community! Join us for an evening of tradition, joy, and togetherness at the Friedman JCC.
55th Annual Mayrutz Run – Begins at 5:00 PM
The night kicks off with the beloved Mayrutz Torch Run.
- Temple B’nai B’rith runners will meet at 4:45 PM and begin at 5:00 PM.
- Temple Ohav Zedek runners will travel through Temple Israel’s parking lot, departing Temple Israel at 5:10 PM.
- Both groups will meet at the corner of Market Street and Third Avenue, then run together with torches down Third Avenue, arriving at the JCC at approximately 5:30 PM.
Community Candle Lighting – 5:30 PM (Outdoors)
We’ll gather outside for a meaningful candle-lighting ceremony. Community members will help light the menorah as we share in the warmth and hope that Chanukah represents. Families, friends, and neighbors of all backgrounds are welcome—this celebration is open to everyone.
Community Chanukah Dinner – 6:00 PM (Reservations Required)
Following the ceremony, the JCC, Temple Israel, and Temple B’nai B’rith invite you to a festive community dinner featuring presentations from Midrasha, traditional songs, and live music.

- Midrasha Students: Free
