Did you ever want to write a story about a difficult time in your life?

Author, professor, and Wilkes University Creative Writing Director David Hicks will get you started. After providing a helpful structure for your autobiographical story (Once upon a time . . . . Then, one day), and reading an example or two, he will ask you to give a try, prompting you to write the first three paragraphs of a life event that changed you in some way. Learning how to craft your story in fictional form will allow you to see yourself as a character deserving of empathy.
