Our Mission
The Friedman Jewish Community Center exists to strengthen community and enrich lives. We offer programs and services that promote well-being, lifelong learning, social connection, and charitable action—locally and across the Jewish world, including Israel and beyond.
True to our name, community is at the heart of everything we do. While rooted in Jewish values, the Friedman JCC is proudly open to everyone.
Sara’s Table Food Pantry
Sara’s Table is dedicated to reducing hunger and promoting healthy nutrition for individuals and families in need. We serve children, adults, and seniors by responding to urgent food insecurity with dignity, compassion, and care.
We support individuals and families referred to us through local congregations, rabbis, churches, counseling services, and social service agencies. In addition to serving the broader community, Sara’s Table uniquely supports vulnerable Jewish populations, including those who are unemployed, retired, experiencing homelessness, or living with mental illness.
As an emergency food center, we prioritize access to nutritious food options and provide educational resources to help clients prepare healthy meals for themselves and their families. When additional needs arise, we connect clients with partner organizations offering counseling, emergency assistance, and other essential services.
With rising unemployment and reduced food assistance benefits, the need for our services continues to grow—evidenced by the long lines each Friday morning. Many returning clients share how Sara’s Table has made a meaningful and lasting difference in their lives.
